Meet the Team

Julie is the clinical director and founder of the New England Therapy Center. She is originally from Schenectady, New York. Julie earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo in Communicative Disorders and Sciences. She also earned her Master of Arts degree from SUNY Geneseo in Speech-Language Pathology. Julie holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She is licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Board of Registration for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Julie is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Specialist Teacher in the areas of Speech-Language and Hearing Disorders.

Julie has extensive experience working with the pediatric population in a variety of settings including schools, daycares, in-home, and out-patient clinics. She has experience in the areas of articulation, receptive/expressive language, fluency, voice, feeding, and social/pragmatic language. Julie has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Integration Disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Cleft Lip/Palate, Down Syndrome, DiGeorge Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Seizure disorders, Hearing Impairment, and Cerebrovascular Accident (stroke), among other medical and/or developmental conditions.

Julie is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), DIR/Floortime, the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, Talk Tools, and Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking Program. She is familiar with the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) feeding techniques, and is CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified for Adults, Children, and Infants. Julie enjoys dancing, reading, and traveling with her husband and children.
